Keeping your personal information safe and secure is our priority. That is why we are making you aware of some important changes we have made to our Privacy Policy as a result of the new Data Protection Law, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25th May 2018.

Our updated Privacy Policy in no way alters the purpose for which we use your information and only clarifies and makes it easier for you to understand how Rapid Auto Centre Ltd collect, use and store your personal information.

We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our customers, and we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading client information to other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

In this Privacy Policy, we provide detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

As one of our customers, we would ask you for personal information, such as Name, Address, Telephone number(s), and Vehicle details, and this data is securely stored on our Computer system for a period of 7 years, after which time this information will be deleted or securely destroyed.

All personal data that we hold about you is held electronically on our password protected IT system or in paper format in a secure office environment.

(Note: Debit/Credit card details are only ever requested for specific payments, and these are processed at point of sale or as soon as is practically / technically possible, and then the card details are immediately destroyed. We may use the data to contact you, for example, if we need to obtain your authorisation or provide you with additional information. When carrying out a MOT, we must enter customer vehicle details, such as Vehicle Registration and mileage on to the Ministry of Transport Website.

We may contact you by letter for general mailings, for example to inform you of a forthcoming MOT renewal date.

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold about you. To do so, please email your request to Gary Stephens our Data Protection Officer.
